Finding Joy in the Little Things
Sometimes, happiness isn’t about a big, life-changing moment—it’s about appreciating the small things. That’s exactly what college student Kate Hackett discovered when she stumbled upon a simple sign on campus: “Tell us something good that happened to you today.”
At first, Kate didn’t feel like she had anything good to share. But with a little encouragement from her friend, she said she was happy just to be with them. That small moment of gratitude turned out to be part of a bigger project by university student Andrew Lam. His video, featuring Kate and 16 others sharing their tiny moments of happiness, has now been viewed over 3.4 million times.
People shared everything from “I just pet a dog” to “the sun feels good today”—reminders that even on an ordinary day, joy is all around us. Andrew’s project proves that happiness isn’t always about major milestones; it’s about noticing the little things that bring us joy.
So, what’s something good that happened to you today?
