I know, you need to save your money making Christmas wishes come true. But you don't want to still use your grandmothers classic decorations anymore. You want to update your home for the holidays, and here's what you'll need according to The Spruce
We don't need to go crazy now, but some still will. So here's some of the tips for updating your decor.
A Cozy ’90s Classic Christmas:
You know, flannel stockings, red and green everything from trees to garlands. Plus, with the 90's back in a big way, everything old is new again. So give this a try.
Little Women, Big Holiday:
This trend brings 1860s charm into modern homes with wild forest greenery, handmade paper decorations, and dried citrus garlands. You can even get inspired by a walk and pick up pinecones and stuff to bring the old school charm into your home. Totally trendy, and make sure you clean it well if you find your own decorations from things found so you don't have unwanted guests coming into your home this holiday season, and I'm not talking about Uncle Joey and his weird tickles. I'm talking about BUGS!!!
Glow-Key Glam: This year’s sparkle is all about quiet, natural light. Think Edison bulbs, soft lights and more and not the glitter bomb your friend Monica would go with. Remember, a little goes a long way.
Metal Mix-and-Mingle: Mixing metals is nothing new, but designers are pairing polished shine with romantic patina, aka a worn aged look, for a richer, more collected feel. Winning combo for me and it feels classic and modern at the same time. Love it!!
Evergreen Dream Scene: Deep green is having its time in the sun again because it brings calm to a season that’s not calm to start off with. Keep the palette tight, like an actual evergreen tree, because it creates some peace and that warm feeling. Chef's kiss.
So if it's time to make your place stand out for the holidays, these may be a good jumping off point. Let me know which you'll try.
