How "Basic" Is Your Password?

How basic is your password? You think hackers can't get into your account. But they find a way to get your info. But sometimes you may make it a little too easy for them to get your info.

Over 5% of people have used the password “password” to protect their accounts, and that's 5% too many, unless you're trying to get someone's information. Then you're making it really easy to get hacked.

A survey found that 78% of 2,000 adults admitted to using the same or similar passwords across multiple sites. While 7% used “password1,” other common options included basic number combinations like “123456” and “123456789.” (I was guilty of this....forever ago. I know way better now!)

Just know, cybercriminals can access personal data with minimal information. Older generations, however, appear more vigilant, with just 20% of Boomers using easy-to-guess passwords compared to 43% of Gen Zs.

Keep your passwords to yourself, but don't make it too easy for someone to get your info. It could cost you in the end.
