Season four of “The Bear” just came out, and if you’re a fan who rushed through all the episodes, we’ve got some recommendations about your next show to watch.
Season four of the hit series just dropped last week, but for devoted fans, those 10 episodes fly by, leaving them wanting more. The show focuses on the stresses and joys of food and the restaurant business, so if you’re into those topics, these are some worthy follow-ups to “The Bear” that will have you saying “yes, chef!”
- “Julia” - This series ran from 2022-2023 and it’s all about Julia Child, who didn’t even learn to cook until she was almost 40, then turned her talent into a bestselling cookbook and TV series.
- “Midnight Diner” - A Japanese series that ran for five seasons starting in 2009, it focuses on a tiny Tokyo restaurant that’s only open from midnight to 7a.m. It’s not as stressful as Chef Carmy’s kitchen, but will still keep you entertained.
- “Sweetbitter” - Based on the novel of the same name by Stephanie Danler, who based it on her experience as a New York City waitress, the two seasons are all about the drama and partying of the service side of the industry.
- “Itaewon Class” - This Korean drama tells the story of a man just released from prison after being wrongfully convicted and is now on a mission to turn a pub into the biggest and best chain in the country.
- “Chef!” - A British sitcom beloved for its smart scripts and humor, the three seasons of this series focus on a perfectionist chef, his kitchen and his wife.
- “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” - This series’ 12 seasons followed the chef traveling all over the world, exploring cultures and their food with a passion only Bourdain had.
- “From Scratch” In this 2022 miniseries, which stars Zoe Saldana, we head to Florence Italy, where an art student falls for a Sicilian chef.
- “Shameless” - This one’s not about restaurants or chefs at all, but the 11 seasons do star Jeremy Allen White, the Bear himself, in a dysfunctional family drama set in Chicago.
- “Gentefied” - The bilingual series focuses on three Mexican-American cousins and their family’s taco shop.
- “Next Level Chef” - Gordon Ramsey leads this reality competition show where cooking hopefuls try to impress the judges.
So if your favorite chef's at The Bear have left you longing for more cooking shows and you just can't wait for the next season (I'm not telling you if it's over or not if you haven't watched.) These could be some pretty good options to fill the void
