Must-Do Things for Summer 2025: Your Ultimate Bucket List

Summer 2025 is here, and it’s bringing sunshine, good vibes, and you need to make the most of every long day and warm night. Whether you’re all about relaxing, or finding new ways to have fun with friends and family, this summer is your chance to soak it all in. Not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered with these must-do ideas to make Summer 2025 unforgettable.

1. Host a Backyard Movie Night

Forget crowded theaters—bring the big screen to your backyard! All you need is a projector, a white sheet (or garage door!), comfy seating, and a snack bar stocked with popcorn, candy, and cold drinks. Bonus points if you go with a nostalgic 90s summer flick or a recent favorite under the stars.

2. Try a “Yes Day” Adventure

Inspired by the family movie, a “Yes Day” means saying yes (within reason! This got me in a bit of trouble with my daughter who won by the rules) to whatever fun plans your partner or kids suggest. That could mean a road trip to the nearest waterpark, ice cream for breakfast, or a full day at the beach with zero phones allowed. Embrace the spontaneity. Keep your $$$ closer.

3.  Discover a Hidden Gem Near Home

You don’t have to travel far to feel like you’ve escaped. Use Summer 2025 to explore a state park you’ve never visited, a quirky roadside attraction, or a small town with charm and amazing food. Make it a mini road trip and bring along a Polaroid to document the adventure.

4. Plan a Screen-Free Sunday

This one is tougher than it sounds—but so worth it, and something I've been trying with my daughter and wife all summer so far. Pick one day a week where phones, tablets, and TVs are off. Go old-school with board games, DIY crafts, bike rides, or even writing postcards to friends. You’ll be amazed at how much more summer it feels without screens stealing your time.

5.Try a New Summer Hobby

Summer 2025 is the perfect season to shake things up. Always wanted to learn paddleboarding? Go for it. Curious about roller skating? Lace up. Whether it’s watercolor painting, making your own cold brew, or finally starting that garden—you’ve got the time and the sunshine on your side.

This summer isn’t about overplanning—it’s about feeling alive. So grab your friends/family, sunnies, slather on the sunscreen, and say yes to new memories. Whether you’re chilling in your own backyard or exploring new spots, make Summer 2025 the one you’ll talk about for years to come.

Now...off to the pool.
