Ever start messing around with someone in your office? But you want to keep it quiet so you don't get in trouble. But the word gets out and makes the office have conversations about you behind your back? Normally I would say who cares? You're happy. But some people will hold it against you for your office relations.
Kickresume put it to the test and asked 1,000 about their office flings, and found that 33% of respondents have participated in a workplace romance, and to that I say duh and think the number is way higher.
Of those who participated in workplace relationships, 13% said it progressed into something more serious (you marry the boss...neat), and 11% said once the relationship ended, one partner left the job (this number I thought would be a lot higher).
When it comes to risks, 54% of those polled are afraid of what would happen if the relationship ended messy, 43% are concerned about conflicts of interest, and 41% worry about balancing professional and personal boundaries. 40% say their workspace has been impacted by romances due to gossip.
So it's fun to hook up, sometimes it can turn into way more. I've seen it happen. But if you like your job stay away from the office hook up.
