2024 is almost over, so now we'll look back on the internet trends of the year, some slang words stick out more than others, and sometimes you're like huh? A team from Unscramblerer.com examined Google search data to see which terms Americans struggled to understand.
“Demure” was searched for 260,000 times, thanks to Jools Lebron’s viral TikTok.
Here's one my kid says all of the time, “Sigma” garnered 220,000 searches, and “skibidi” pulled in 205,000. Other terms that cracked the top 10 include “hawk tuah” and you know you saw the video, “sobriquet”, and “preen.” “Slang words are a normal and fun evolution of language. We encourage everyone to learn some new words and surprise their children by using them,” a spokesperson for Unscramblerer.com said.
