Tip screens are everywhere, coffee houses, restaurants and more. But, you may have noticed on your most recent trip where there are no tip screens: Airplanes. But why don't flight attendants ask for tips?
“Tipping is not part of a flight attendant’s compensation for serving as aviation’s first responders,” Sara Nelson of the Association of Flight Attendants said.
In short, giving a flight attendant money could undermine their job as a safety officer. Their first job is to keep passengers safe! It is acceptable to leave a positive review of the airline or give a flight attendant a small gift, like a gift card, as a token of appreciation. But no tips needed please.
