I personally don't drink coffee, not really a fan of warm drinks. But when you say you "Need" coffee it might be because it's in your genes.
Researchers used information from 23andMe and UK Biobank’s databases and discovered a genetic link between coffee consumption. However, genes linked to higher coffee consumption were also connected to conditions like obesity and substance abuse. So there is that.
So should you stop drinking coffee? There are many factors, like caffeine levels and calorie content, there’s not yet a cut-and-dry answer.
So if you need it, get it. Just know it may be from your DNA and that means it's not an excuse to take a break. So bottoms up, and enjoy your cup of Joe.
