In recent years, Oklahomans, like many Americans, have spent a significant portion of their income on dining out. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2019, the average American household spent approximately $3,526 annually on food away from home. This figure includes spending at restaurants, fast-food establishments, and other dining venues. WOW! Way more than we thought it would be.
In Oklahoma, as in other parts of the United States, the decision to dine out can be influenced by various factors, including cost. Economic conditions, such as income levels, employment rates, and inflation, can impact consumers' discretionary spending on dining out.
So the question is, how much do you spend when you go out/if you go out to eat?
Do you even still eat out anymore?
