Black Friday is a few days away, and if you're serious about taking advangage of all the deals you may need a plan. But the best way to save more, is by not clicking the "buy now" on the items in your shopping cart...at least for a few days.
According to NBC News senior consumer investigative correspondent Vicky Nguyen, to get the most bang for your buck, waiting is the name of the game. She explains that if you abandon your cart and leave the website for a few days, you could get a better deal. “You might get an email from that store saying, ‘Hey, I think you forgot these items in your cart?’” Nguyen says. And to entice you to come back, the store may offer you an additional discount.
But no matter what kind of discounts you find, Nguyen stresses that it’s not worth going into debt over gifts, so it’s important to treat credit cards like cash this holiday season. She says, “If you’re going to use a credit card, then use the ones that have additional bonuses and points, so that you can apply those to your purchases.”
