Astronomer issued a statement in response to the now-viral clip exposing a CEO Andy Byron's alleged affair with Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot at Coldplay's Gillette Stadium concert earlier this week.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding," the company wrote on its social media accounts Friday (July 18) afternoon. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly. Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect."
A video clip showed Bryon with his arm wrapped around Cabot while being shown on Coldplay's kiss cam. The two appeared to panic, with Byron letting go immediately and ducking behind a barrier and Cabot burying her face in her hands.
âOh what either theyâre having an affair or theyâre very shyâ Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked unknowingly to the crowd in attendance.
Byron has served as Astronomer's CEO since July 2023 and had previously held several executive positions with other cybersecurity and software firms. Cabot has only held her position for nine months, describing herself as an individual who "wins trust with employees of all levels from CEOs to managers to assistants" on her LinkedIn account via Yahoo!.
