Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. recalled one production lot of their "washed and ready-to-eat 4 in/1.6oz Marketside Celery Sticks" on April 10th due to "the possibility of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes."

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled celery sticks were sold in bundle packs at Walmart stores across 29 states including Texas.

Consumers should throw out 4 in/1.6oz Marketside Celery Sticks with best by date 03/23/2025, UPC code 6 81131 16151 0, and lot code P047650.

Per the FDA, Listeria "is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

Symptoms of a Listeria monocytogenes infection include "high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea." Being infected with this organism can also "cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."

As of Friday (April 11) no illness were reported from consuming the affected lot of Marketside Celery Sticks.

Customers with questions regarding the recalled product are encouraged to contact Duda Farm Fresh Foods via email at foodsafety@duda.com and Duda Farm Fresh Foods' media representative Cathleen Conley at Corpcomm@duda.com.
