There’s a new Robin Williams biography called “Robin” coming out next Tuesday.  And it includes Billy Crystal recalling how he noticed Robin starting to deteriorate.

He says, “He wasn’t feeling well, but he didn’t let on to me all that was going on.  As he would say to me, ‘I’m a little crispy.’  I didn’t know what was happening, except he wasn’t happy.”

Billy remembers Robin looking thinner and “a little frail” when he saw him in 2013.  And he cried when he hugged Billy goodbye.

Not long after that, Robin called Billy to tell him he’d been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease…which was actually a misdiagnosis.  What he had was Lewy Body Dementia.

Billy says, “I never heard him afraid like that before.  This was the boldest comedian I ever met…the boldest artist I ever met.  But this was just a scared man.”
