“Black Panther” Made $108 Million in its Second Weekend

 “Black Panther” had a huge second weekend at the box office, with a massive take of $108 million.  Nothing else came close.

That’s the second-best second weekend of all time, behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, with $149.2 million.

“Black Panther” has now made $400 million in the U.S., and it’s on its way to being the biggest Marvel movie of all time.  It’s not a given.  “Avengers” currently holds the title with $623.4 million.

But “Black Panther” is two-thirds of the way there after just two weeks.

The Jason Bateman / Rachel McAdams comedy “Game Night” opened in second place this weekend, with $16.6 million.  Here’s this weekend’s Top 10:

1.  “Black Panther”, $108 million.  Up to $400 million in its 2nd week.

2.  NEW:  “Game Night”, $16.6 million.

3.  “Peter Rabbit”, $12.5 million.  Up to $71.3 million in its 3rd week.

4.  NEW:  “Annihilation”, $11 million.

5.  “Fifty Shades Freed”, $6.9 million.  Up to $89.6 million in its 3rd week.

6.  “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”, $5.7 million.  Up to $387.3 million in its 10th week.

7.  “The 15:17 to Paris”, $3.6 million.  Up to $32.3 million in its 3rd week.

8.  “The Greatest Showman”, $3.4 million.  Up to $160.8 million in its 10th week.

9.  NEW:  “Every Day”, $3.1 million.

10.  “Early Man”, $1.7 million.  Up to $6.8 million in its 2nd week.
