Taylor Swift’s song “Shake It Off” shares some lyrical similarities with the 3LW song “Playas Gon’ Play” from 2000 . . . and last September, 3LW sued her over it.
They argued that Taylor just changed “The playas gon’ play, them haters gonna hate” to “‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play, and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.”
But a judge wasn’t impressed, and yesterday, the lawsuit was tossed out of court. 3LW has an opportunity to refile by February 26th . . . but unless they come up with a better case against Taylor, it probably won’t go anywhere.
