Last year when Dallas lost Officers Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson and Patrick Zamarripa, it was hard for us to process as grown ups. I remember my daughter having lots of questions about why tragedies like this happen. She couldn't understand why anyone would want to hurt the people who keep us safe. It's think it's important for our children to learn how to honor those we have lost, especially our heroes that work hard to protect us.
Tomorrow morning, Dallas will unite to form the Weekend Of Honor Unity Chain. I am impressed at this loving show of support and unity that our children can participate in. I pray that it heals their confused hearts and helps them understand that "A True hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but the strength of his heart."
